Needs and Opportunities at Barnes Elementary School

Please contact Pastor Curtis at Cedar Hills Baptist if you can help with any of the important needs listed below.

• Right now there is a great need for volunteers to read with students. There is a specific need in the kindergarten classrooms in the afternoons (12:30-1:30 and1:00-1:30 with a couple different teachers)
• Library help: we have an awesome new librarian and she could use some help organizing the library and re-shelving the books when they are returned by the students
• Oregon Battle of the Books (OBOB): This s a fun event where volunteers get to test book knowledge of groups of 3rd, 4th and 5th graders. This is during each classroom's library time so connects really well to helping out at the library! I have attached the OBOB schedule so you have a feel for what it looks like
• Staff Appreciation Dinners: We want to provide meals to our hard working teachers during teacher parent conferences. This term we are hoping to provide them meals on October 21st and 22nd.
